Overview Job Title: Family Preservation Worker – FTBS Program Location: Hybrid / Remote – Wellspring Kentwood Service Area: Kent county Reports to: FTBS Supervisor Position Type: Full-Time | Salary Accepting applications through July 6, 2026. Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit serving families and children throughout Michigan. As the Family Preservation Worker – FTBS Program , you will be part of a team committed to delivering exceptional services to families throughout Kent county. Responsibilities Learn, follow and educate families according to the FTBS program model of service (strength-based, non-deficit approach). Provide and assist families in obtaining concrete services, such as housing, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance and repair, etc. Provide skills training including but not limited to parenting, self-advocacy, self-sufficiency and communication. Provide short term counseling and crisis intervention for families. Make collateral contacts to arrange outpatient counseling or medical care; address educational needs; assist with utility needs; resolve housing issues with landlords, shelters or potential housing programs; and connect families with community resources. Prepare documentation (service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, weekly plans, time reports, letters, etc.) within the appropriate time frames. Prepare and present each case for termination conference with contractor, recommending follow-up services. Maintain face to face contact with families according to the contract defined frequency and the individual needs of each family. Maintain weekly contact, or more as needed, with referring workers. Complete follow-up evaluations of families at 3 and 6 months following service. Transport clients in your own vehicle as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services related field, required. Experience working with children and families. Valid driver’s license, current car registration and auto insurance, required. Reliable with a responsible attitude, compassionate approach and commitment to quality. Schedule and Compensation Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day shift, with flexible hours to see clients as needed Hybrid remote: home-based with daily travel throughout Kent County to see families in-home. Travel: Mileage reimbursement provided. Pay Rate: $43,000 per year, based of experience. Benefits Health, Vision and Dental insurance. 403(b) retirement plan + matching.
