Job Description Sbarro – 81 Providence Place #5110, Providence, RI 02903 About the Role: Reporting to the General Manager, the Team Member provides front‑line service to Sbarro guests in an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing, clean and safe manner. Maintain product knowledge, understanding ingredients, presentation, price of all menu items and specials. Receive payment for all transactions following prescribed methods and with prescribed standards for guest service. Follow all required procedures outlined in Sbarro cash handling policy. Demonstrate full working knowledge of Sbarro point‑of‑sale register system. Complete cleaning and stocking duties in accordance with the appropriate daily operating procedure. Practice food safety and sanitation standards required of foodservice establishments. Follow established cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Assist other team members when required. Use gloves, utensils, portion control, temperature of hot food, and attractive presentation of all food correctly. Communicate timely with co‑workers and management regarding food quality and supplies. Pizza Maker Prepare all food products in accordance with Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards while utilizing predetermined safety and sanitary procedures. Judge volume of sales relative to pizza preparation and production. Communicate timely with co‑workers and management regarding food quality and supplies. Complete cleaning and stocking duties in accordance with the appropriate daily operating procedure. Practice food safety and sanitation standards required of foodservice establishments. Follow food safety time and temperature controls and cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Serve customers within assigned station following prescribed methods and standards for guest service, including greeting, enhancing sales through purchase suggestions, proper serving procedure, checking for satisfaction and recipe compliance. Maintain product knowledge, ingredients, presentation, price of all menu items and specials. Use equipment, gloves, utensils, portion control, temperature of hot food, and attractive presentation of all food properly. Assist other team members when required. Steam Cook / Prep Prepare all food products in accordance with Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards while utilizing predetermined safety and sanitary procedures. Operate all station preparatory equipment safely and sanitarily (knives, steam cooker, dough machine, pizza oven, stove, etc.). Function independently to prepare adequate product according to predetermined production schedules. Maintain all displayed steam table items according to Recipe Manual and Product Cards while meeting local health requirements. Rotate new and prepared products in FIFO manner. Follow food safety time and temperature controls and cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Dishwasher Maintain sink area, dining tables, floors, service stations, restrooms, and trash receptacles clean and sanitized in accordance with restaurant procedures and standards. Clean and sanitize all trays, pots, pans, and other utensils, except knives, using prescribed methods. Wash and sanitize restaurant storage areas (walk‑in freezers and refrigerators) as required. Serve customers on an as‑needed basis within assigned station, following prescribed methods and standards for guest service, including greeting, serving procedures, checking guest satisfaction. Complete cleaning and stocking duties in accordance with operating procedures. Assist other team members when required. Use equipment, gloves, utensils, portion control, temperature (hot/cold), and attractive presentation of all food. Maintain product knowledge: ingredients, presentation, price of menu items, specials. Qualifications Ability to follow all health and safety laws, policies and procedures. Ability to deliver food orders within specified time goals. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to effectively and safely use kitchen knives. Adequate command of English language (understanding, speaking, reading, writing). Basic mathematical skills for accurate cash handling. Other Requirements Outgoing, enthusiastic, willing to serve the public in a positive manner. Arrive to work on time. Work cooperatively with other team members and management staff. Handle stressful situations calmly and pleasantly. Manage multiple tasks. Employment Standards Employees must be at least 16 years of age and possess all required documents and permits. Employees under 18 prohibited from using any machines, equipment, or tools prohibited by law.
