About the Role:

The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting the human resources functions within a professional and technical services environment. This position is responsible for managing a broad range of HR activities including employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted advisor to both management and employees, ensuring that HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented. By fostering a positive workplace culture and addressing employee needs, this role contributes directly to organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction. Ultimately, the HR Generalist ensures that the company develops and retains top talent while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in the United States.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
• Experience working in ADP WorkforceNow a plus.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, technical or scientific services company.
• Familiarity with talent management software and applicant tracking systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with employee engagement and organizational development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition to the company.
• Assist with employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports related to HR metrics and workforce analytics.
• Coordinate employee performance management processes and support training and development initiatives.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs that align with organizational goals.

Skills:

The HR Generalist utilizes strong communication skills daily to effectively interact with employees at all levels and to clearly convey HR policies and procedures. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting HR metrics and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems enables efficient management of employee data and recruitment processes. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are frequently applied to address employee relations issues and foster a positive work environment. Additionally, organizational and multitasking abilities are critical to managing diverse responsibilities such as benefits administration, performance management, and training coordination.
