FOOD SERVICE WORKER I (Partial Year) Position Type: External Employment Type: Employee Benefits Eligibility: Benefits Eligible Full/Part Time: Full Time Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; may include evening and weekend work as needed Salary: $16.587 / hr (as of 7/1/25) Position Summary This is a benefits eligible, partial year position (9-11 months of the year). Responsibilities Assisting cooks and other kitchen personnel in cleaning/preparing/serving foods, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors. Maintaining cleanliness and neatness in preparing, handling and serving food, and serving patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner. Care and use of food service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, steam cookers and beverage machines. Performing related work as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a department sponsored food safety training program within 6 months of hire (required). Preferred Qualifications Experience in food service or kitchen operations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies Knowledge of safe food handling practices in a team environment. Knowledge of food preparation methods. Physical ability to move loads up to 50 lbs, handle repetitive motion, reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, kneel, and work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors. Physical Demands Move loads up to 50 lbs, unloading and stocking products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs; repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder; hand and finger coordination; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, kneel; work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors; long hours standing.
