Automation Engineer (Level 1)

We're hiring a Level 1 Automation Engineer to design, program, and maintain automation and control systems within a high-performance manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with PLC programming and industrial electrical experience who wants long-term career growth in advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Design, program, install, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems (Siemens / Allen-Bradley)
Maintain and improve industrial electrical control systems for new and existing equipment
Support continuous improvement by optimizing programs, HMI/SCADA systems, and automation controls
Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, drives, and instrumentation systems
Develop electrical control procedures, standards, and documentation
Partner with maintenance and production teams to increase uptime and efficiency

Qualifications
• 2+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• 2+ years of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with HMI / SCADA systems
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors, and control systems

Preferred (Not Required):

Advanced automation development and programming
Knowledge of Cold Mill processes or metals manufacturing
BS in Electrical Engineering , Mechatronics, or related field
Siemens TIA Portal experience
Proficiency with PDA analysis and system diagnostics
