Election Staffing Support

Supports election staffing by reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, assigning roles and schedules, updating records, and helping ensure temporary staffing needs are filled accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Review candidate applications, resumes, availability, qualifications, and required documentation for assigned temporary roles.
• Conduct phone, virtual, or in-person interviews using approved screening questions and role requirements.
• Match candidates to roles, shifts, locations, and training sessions based on qualifications, availability, and operational needs.
• Enter and update candidate data, interview notes, role assignments, schedules, and status changes accurately in designated systems.
• Communicate with candidates regarding next steps, onboarding requirements, training, schedules, and assignment expectations.
• Coordinate with staffing leads, trainers, workforce coordinators, and supervisors to fill gaps and replace unavailable workers.
• Protect applicant information, maintain professional communication, and follow non-discrimination and County compliance expectations.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Data entry speed of at least 35 WPM with accuracy.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to use phone systems, including Cisco phone systems if assigned.
• Interviewing, customer service, organization, and candidate follow-up skills.
• Team-oriented approach and ability to work under high-volume staffing deadlines. Attention to detail when matching candidates to requirements and schedules.

Minimum Qualifications and Compliance Requirements

• Background check and drug screening required before assignment.
• Overtime availability required based on election staffing needs.
• Prior recruiting, call center, HR, staffing, administrative, or election-worker onboarding experience preferred.
• Must complete required systems, confidentiality, and staffing-process training before assignment.

Schedule and Working Conditions

• Office or call-center style work involving extended computer use, phone calls, data entry, and frequent follow-up.
• May require flexible hours during surge recruiting, training, and Election Day preparation periods.
• Must be available to work through the election cycle with limited requested days off.
• Must be available for schedule needs that may include 8-10 hour shifts, weekends, flexible start and end times, overtime, and extended hours on specific event days, especially Election Day.
• Must remain reliable, punctual, and responsive to assignment changes during a fast-paced, deadline-driven election environment.
• Must follow County security rules, workplace policies, chain-of-custody expectations, confidentiality requirements, dress code, and professional conduct standards.

Performance Expectations

• Completes assigned work accurately, on time, and in accordance with training and County procedures.
• Maintains nonpartisan conduct, voter confidentiality, ballot security, and respectful service at all times.
• Escalates exceptions, voter issues, equipment concerns, safety concerns, and unclear instructions promptly to the designated supervisor or lead.
• Accurately documents work performed, materials handled, calls received, records updated, and/or batch activity as applicable to the assignment.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
