Senior Surgical Tech Role
As a Senior Surgical Tech you will play a vital role on the surgical team, assisting with complex cardiac procedures. You will ensure a sterile field, manage specialized instruments, and support the surgical team before, during, and after operations. Your experience and leadership will contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical outcomes in a high-acuity setting.
Main Tasks
- Prepare and maintain the sterile operating field
- Assist surgeons during cardiac procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized surgical equipment
- Ensure proper handling and accountability of surgical instruments and supplies
- Support and mentor junior surgical techs and assist with staff training
- Strictly adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records

Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience, with experience in open heart or cardiac surgery required
- BLS (AHA-certified)
Preferred:
- Advanced cardiac surgery experience
- Experience in mentoring or training staff
- Associate or bachelor's degree
