ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY If you're an experienced welding inspector who understands the quality demands of semiconductor construction and process piping, we want to talk to you. As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you'll lead welding and fabrication quality efforts across complex semiconductor projects, ensuring work meets project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations. You'll serve as a technical resource to project teams, quality personnel, and craft professionals while helping drive right-first-time execution and continuous improvement. - Develop and lead project-specific QA/QC programs for semiconductor construction, including process piping, utility systems, tool hook-ups, skids, and modular fabrication.
- Oversee welding, fabrication, and piping inspections to verify compliance with approved procedures, drawings, specifications, cleanliness requirements, and client standards.
- Inspect stainless steel process piping, orbital welding, high-purity tubing, and thermoplastic piping systems, including applicable fusion processes.
- Review WPS, PQR, WPQ, welding and fusion qualifications, material traceability, inspection reports, and other quality documentation.
- Coordinate NDE, boroscope inspections, weld mapping, pressure and leak testing, passivation, cleaning verification, and system turnover activities.
- Maintain accurate quality records, turnover packages, weld and fusion logs, testing documentation, and other required project records.
- Lead the identification, investigation, and resolution of non-conformances and corrective actions while driving continuous improvement.
- Partner with project leadership, engineers, fabrication teams, craft personnel, and client representatives to proactively resolve quality issues and support project schedules.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for quality personnel, inspectors, supervisors, and craft employees while supporting client audits and quality reviews.
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
- 7+ years of quality, welding inspection, fabrication, or construction experience, preferably in semiconductor or other highly regulated industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, AWS standards, SEMI standards, and project-specific quality requirements.
- Experience with stainless steel process piping, orbital welding, high-purity systems, and thermoplastic piping/fusion.
- Experience reviewing welding qualifications, material traceability, inspection documentation, and turnover packages.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, and welding/fusion documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across field, fabrication, and client teams.
- Ability to work in active construction, fabrication, and cleanroom environments while maintaining safety, quality, and contamination-control requirements.
