Maintenance Technician

Job Description

SURESTAFF is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a well-known dairy distribution company located in Chicago, IL. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($25-$35/hr depending on experience) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).
Available shift is 1st shift 6am-4pm, Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician Include:

• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and adjusts.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on company assets including but not limited to egg loaders, egg graders, tape machines, and over wrappers.
• Repair and maintain equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.
• Keep accurate maintenance and preventative maintenance records.
• Maintains a safe, productive, and reliable workplace to meet our business needs while compiling with OSHA, IIAR, ANSI, COC and Food grade standards (GMP's).
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications of the Maintenance Technician:

• Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, etc.
• Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics.
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
