Summary of Position
We are looking for a reliable hotel concierge to work at the main entrance desk of our hotel. The concierge will be the first to meet our guests so the first impression of our hotel depends on their friendliness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a smart and trustworthy individual able to provide guests with a warm greeting and handle all incoming requests. In addition, you will be responsible to protect the hotel and its residents by monitoring who comes in and out of our premises. The goal is to contribute to an overall pleasant customer experience to increase our reputation and ensure sustainable growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides information regarding the Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles area, including directions, attractions, shopping, nightlife, or recreational opportunities.
- Arranges sightseeing and other tours.
- Acquires tickets to special events or makes reservations for clients at a variety of venues, including for dinner, recreation times (e.g., golf or tennis), or spa treatments, when services are not available at The Spa at The Maybourne Beverly Hills.
- Supports the Page / Driver by performing shipping duties, logging packages, etc as needed in the absence of the page and as requested by The Director of Guest Relations, Manager on Duty, or senior leadership
- The Concierge assists with printing needs, as needed.
- Arranges transportation in accordance with hotel’s approved vendor(s)
- Possesses an expert level knowledge of the hotel’s offerings, as it relates to activities, dining, spa, etc
- Arranges for interpreters or translators when needed.
- Develops and maintains service relationships with trusted partners to fulfil the needs of patrons, customers, guests, or colleagues.
- Answer phone and email inquiries from potential guests and their representatives in a timely and respectful manner
- Greet guests and visitors warmly and make them feel welcome and attended
- Offer restaurant and activity recommendations and assist guests in arranging transportation and excursions
- Receive and redirect e-mails, phone calls, packages, etc as needed
- Ensure that guest spaces and lobby are always clean and tidy
- Act as a liaison between guests and any department necessary, including Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Front Office, Guest Relations, etc
- Fulfil and execute applicable standards set forth by Forbes Travel Guide and LQA
- Anticipate guests’ needs to accommodate them and provide an exceptional guest experience
- Understand customer’s needs and provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by the hotel
- Acquire extensive knowledge of the premises and the nearby venues and businesses to make the most suitable recommendations
- Arrange events, excursions, transportation etc. upon request from hotel residents
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five years’ experience as concierge in a Forbes Four Star hotel or higher is highly preferred;
- Membership of Les Clefs d’Or and / or Los Angeles Concierge Association is highly preferred
- Proficiency in English; multilingual is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism
- Polite and confident with a great deal of patience
- Ability in multitasking and time-management
- Aptitude in resolving issues with a customer-focused orientation
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize as necessary to meet the guest's needs.
- Represent the hotel with integrity and dedication
- Understanding guest needs and providing them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities & facilities throughout the city
- High School diploma; degree in hospitality or relevant field is a plus
