Job Description:\n\nJob Description\nThe General Superintendent is responsible for providing executive-level field leadership and operational oversight for major electrical construction operations, large-scale project portfolios, regional field operations, or multiple business units. This role oversees Superintendents, Senior Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership teams while driving operational execution, workforce planning, labor productivity, safety performance, quality standards, and customer satisfaction across the organization.\n\nThe General Superintendent serves as one of the highest-ranking field operations leaders within the company and is responsible for establishing operational standards, execution strategies, workforce deployment plans, and field leadership expectations that support organizational growth and scalable operations. This position partners closely with executive leadership, Project Executives, Operations leadership, Safety, QA/QC, Prefabrication, and Project Management teams to ensure projects are properly staffed, operational risks are mitigated, schedules are achieved, and customer expectations are exceeded.\n\nThis role provides strategic oversight for labor forecasting, manpower allocation, project execution planning, construction sequencing, operational consistency, and field performance across multiple large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, and mission critical/data center projects. The General Superintendent plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, workforce development, succession planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across field operations.\n\nThe General Superintendent is expected to manage high-level customer relationships, executive operational coordination, complex project escalations, schedule recovery efforts, shutdown planning, and accelerated construction activities while maintaining alignment with organizational goals, safety standards, profitability objectives, and long-term workforce strategies. This role also serves as a key mentor and leadership resource for Superintendents and emerging field leaders throughout the organization.\n\n \n\nEssential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities\n\nTasks may include, but are not limited to the following:\n\n· Provide executive-level oversight for field operations across multiple large-scale electrical construction projects, operational regions, or business units\n\n· Lead and direct Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution\n\n· Develop operational execution strategies, workforce deployment plans, labor forecasts, and staffing initiatives that support organizational growth and project delivery objectives\n\n· Monitor operational performance metrics including labor productivity, schedule adherence, manpower utilization, safety performance, quality standards, and workforce efficiency\n\n· Partner with executive leadership, Project Executives, Project Management, Safety, QA/QC, Engineering, and Prefabrication teams to drive operational alignment and strategic execution\n\n· Oversee project startup planning, construction sequencing, shutdown coordination, commissioning support, schedule recovery efforts, and critical milestone execution\n\n· Identify and resolve operational risks, customer escalations, labor challenges, constructability concerns, and project execution issues while implementing corrective action strategies\n\n· Conduct operational reviews, field audits, leadership evaluations, safety observations, and workforce assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and operational expectations\n\n· Lead workforce development, succession planning, mentoring, and leadership coaching initiatives for Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership personnel\n\n· Support strategic planning initiatives including business growth, workforce scalability, operational improvements, customer relationship management, and continuous improvement programs\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities \n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n· Advanced knowledge of commercial, industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, and mission critical electrical construction operations\n\n· Extensive understanding of electrical systems installation, NEC requirements, construction sequencing, workforce management, and operational execution strategies\n\n· Proven ability to oversee large-scale project portfolios, regional field operations, and complex construction programs simultaneously\n\n· Strong leadership and organizational management skills with the ability to lead large field organizations and multiple levels of operational leadership\n\n· Advanced knowledge of labor forecasting, workforce planning, productivity analysis, operational reporting, and construction performance metrics\n\n· Strong understanding of project scheduling, shutdown planning, commissioning activities, schedule recovery strategies, and operational risk mitigation\n\n· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, one-line diagrams, BIM/VDC models, and construction documents\n\n· Strong communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and decision-making skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, customers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel\n\n· Working knowledge of budgeting concepts, labor cost impacts, profitability drivers, and operational forecasting principles\n\n· Proficiency with construction technology platforms and software including Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), scheduling software, BIM/VDC platforms, and Microsoft Office applications\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\n· Directly oversees Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership personnel across assigned operations or regions\n\n· Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for field operations leadership teams\n\n· Assists with workforce planning, staffing strategies, succession planning, leadership development, and organizational structure recommendations\n\n· Participates in hiring decisions, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and workforce development initiatives\n\n· Establishes operational expectations, accountability standards, and leadership performance goals across field operations\n\nWork Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time\n\nWork Environment:\n\n· Work is performed primarily on active construction jobsites, operational field offices, and industrial environments with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, elevated work areas, noise, dust, and construction activity\n\n· Exposure to energized electrical systems, heavy equipment, confined spaces, and mission critical operational environments may occur\n\n· Regular travel between jobsites, regional offices, and operational locations is required\n\n· Regular use of PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, arc flash gear, and fall protection equipment is required\n\n· Position may require extended presence on jobsites during shutdowns, commissioning activities, critical project milestones, or accelerated schedules\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nThis role requires the physical and environmental demands outlined below, with or without reasonable accommodation. Exempt\n\nTypical Schedule/Shift Details:\n\n· Primarily Monday through Friday with early morning start times common within construction operations\n\n· Extended hours, weekends, holidays, or overnight work may be required based on project schedules, outages, shutdowns, commissioning activities, or operational demands\n\n· Frequent travel between projects, regional operations, and customer locations may be required\n\nOvertime Expectations:\n\n· This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws\n\n· Additional hours may be required based on business needs, operational demands, project schedules, critical milestones, or emergency response activities\n\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nEducation:\n\n· High school diploma or equivalent required\n\n· Associate degree, technical certification, trade school training, or coursework in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred\n\n· Combination of education, advanced field leadership experience, and electrical construction expertise may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements\n\nCertifications/Licenses:\n\n· Valid driver’s license required\n\n· OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain within established timeframe\n\n· State Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred where applicable\n\n· CPR/First Aid certification preferred\n\n· NFPA 70E training preferred\n\n· Advanced safety certifications, leadership training, or construction management certifications preferred\n\nExperience Requirements:\n\n· Minimum 15+ years of progressive electrical construction experience required\n\n· Minimum 7+ years of experience in Superintendent or Senior Superintendent leadership roles overseeing large-scale electrical construction operations required\n\n· Demonstrated experience managing multiple large-scale projects, regional operations, or complex construction programs simultaneously required\n\n· Extensive experience leading commercial, industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, or mission critical/data center construction projects preferred\n\n· Strong background in workforce planning, labor forecasting, productivity management, operational execution, and field leadership development required\n\n· Experience coordinating with executive leadership, Project Management, Safety, QA/QC, Engineering, Owners, General Contractors, and subcontractors required\n\n· Experience managing complex shutdowns, commissioning activities, accelerated schedules, and operational recovery efforts preferred\n\n· Proven experience mentoring and developing Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership teams required\n\n· Experience with construction management software, field technology systems, operational reporting tools, and scheduling platforms preferred\n\n· Large-scale mission critical, hyperscale data center, or highly technical electrical construction experience strongly preferred\n\nEquipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position\n\n· Computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones\n\n· Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams\n\n· Construction management and field software including Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Navisworks, BIM/VDC platforms, and scheduling software\n\n· Company vehicles, trucks, or utility vehicles used for travel between jobsites and operational locations\n\n· Radios, mobile communication devices, and jobsite communication equipment\n\n· Electrical testing and measurement tools including multimeters, voltage testers, and diagnostic equipment as needed for operational oversight\n\n· Printers, scanners, copiers, and standard office equipment\n\n· Jobsite equipment and machinery including aerial lifts, forklifts, generators, ladders, and power tools may be observed or utilized periodically in support of field operations\n\n· Personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, arc flash gear, and fall protection equipment\n\n· Scheduling boards, project tracking systems, manpower reporting tools, and digital workforce management applications\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nEnterprise Electrical’s Core Values & Purpose\n\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following Enterprise Electrical core values:\n\n• Safety First, Safety Always (Safety)\n\n• Committed to Excellence (Greatness)\n\n• Plan it, Do it, Own it (Accountability)\n\n• Learn it, Know it, Teach it (Mentorship)\n\n• One Team, One Goal (Teamwork)\n\n• Positive Attitude Required (Positivity)\n\n \n\nOur Core Purpose: Building Relationships to Enrich Lives
