The 1st Shift Cycle Counter plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting smooth production operations within a modern manufacturing and warehouse environment. This position focuses on performing daily cycle counts, reconciling physical inventory with ERP system records, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring materials are correctly labeled, stored, and available for production. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory control, material flow, and overall warehouse organization.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cycle counts of inventory across warehouse, bulk storage, and production lineside locations.
• Verify physical inventory against ERP system records to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and mislocated materials.
• Identify root causes of inventory variances and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence.
• Verify inventory availability for production lines and sub-assembly areas to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
• Support material searches for missing or misplaced parts that may impact production schedules.
• Confirm correct part numbers, quantities, and storage locations for all materials.
• Assist with inventory adjustments and corrections within the ERP system.
• Maintain accurate location management for all materials throughout the facility.
• Support the implementation and execution of ABC cycle counting programs.
• Validate part labeling, barcodes, and storage standards to ensure proper identification and traceability.
• Ensure materials are stored in correct locations and labeled properly according to established standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.
• Support process improvements related to inventory control and material flow.
• Assist with physical inventory activities and audits as needed.
• Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, moving, and organizing inventory within the facility.
• Use RF scanners to verify product information in SAP and Excel spreadsheets and to confirm system-assigned locations.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely to move materials across racks, bulk storage, lineside, and specialized departments.
• Cross-check inventory contents against manufacturing labels, validating part numbers, quantities, and proper departmental processing.
• Maintain data integrity by identifying and resolving discrepancies in inventory records, supporting real-time traceability and compliance with internal logistics standards.
• Document findings, adjustments, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse, production, and other cross-functional teams to coordinate material needs and resolve issues.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on inventory accuracy and reconciliation.
• Ability to investigate problems, perform root cause analysis, and work independently.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to maintain clear documentation.
• Proficiency with RF scanners for inventory verification and data entry.
• Comfort using SAP and Excel spreadsheets to verify and track product information.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Effective cross-functional communication skills to collaborate with warehouse, production, and other teams.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and frequently move throughout warehouse and production areas.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Comfortable working in warehouse and manufacturing environments and using required personal protective equipment.
• Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination for handling materials and operating equipment safely.

Work Environment:

This role is based in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse facility that utilizes Industry 4.0 technology and ERP systems such as SAP and other platforms, along with RF scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, and Excel spreadsheets for inventory management. The standard shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with openness to overtime and occasional weekend work as operational needs require. The position involves frequent walking throughout warehouse and production areas, standing for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders. Personal protective equipment is required, and good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are important for safe operation of material handling equipment. The facility environment supports efficient material flow, organized storage, and accurate inventory tracking, while maintaining clear safety standards and procedures.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
