Digital Policy Communications Specialist
$78k - $108kTSG - The Sheridan Group, a DC-based strategic communications and public affairs firm, seeks a Digital Policy Communications Specialist to support advocacy campaigns for corporate, nonprofit, and association clients. In this role, you'll research policy issues, track media and legislative developments, and help craft clear, persuasive content across digital and traditional channels. Working closely with senior strategists in a small, hands-on team, you'll contribute to campaign planning, client deliverables, and performance reporting while gaining broad exposure to high-impact public affairs work.
Responsibilities
- Support development and execution of strategic communications and public affairs campaigns for corporate, nonprofit, and association clients
- Conduct policy, media, and stakeholder research to inform advocacy strategies and messaging
- Draft and edit client-ready materials, including briefs, talking points, digital content, and reports
- Monitor media, legislative, and regulatory developments relevant to client issues
- Coordinate with senior consultants to manage timelines, deliverables, and client communication
- Assist in preparing presentations and campaign performance summaries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital, media, and grassroots tactics
- Maintain organized project files, research sources, and campaign documentation
