Assembly Manager Treske Precision Machining, Inc. is a Space & Defense, Electronics, and Commercial precision machine shop. We have an immediate full-time opening for an Assembly Manager. We are a growing company seeking a capable, flexible, and dependable leader to oversee and scale our Assembly Department on day shift. Assembly work at Treske consists of high-value, high-precision machined components. Typical assembly processes include: Installing inserts (Helicoils, Key Inserts, dowel pins, P.E.M. inserts/studs, bushings) Laser and ink part marking Sealant and gasketing applications Sub-assembly bench work (fastened components) Occasional riveting Job Summary The Assembly Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the Assembly Department. This role owns production output, quality, staffing, process optimization, and cross-functional coordination. The Assembly Manager drives operational excellence, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop assembly team members and supervisors, building a high-performing and accountable team Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and development plans Foster a culture of teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement Operational & Production Management Own daily and long-term production planning to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements. Ensure all assembly work is performed according to technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards Allocate resources effectively to meet throughput, efficiency, and on-time delivery targets Quality Ownership Ensure all assembled products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements Partner with Quality to implement and sustain robust quality systems and corrective actions Drive root cause analysis and resolution of assembly-related issues Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput Standardize best practices and ensure consistent execution across the department Inventory, Equipment & Facility Oversight Oversee tooling, equipment maintenance, and assembly workspace readiness Coordinate with Supply Chain and Production to ensure material availability Maintain organized, efficient, and scalable work areas Safety & Compliance Champion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements Conduct and enforce safety training, audits, and corrective actions Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration Track and report key performance metrics (production, quality, efficiency, staffing) Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Leadership teams to meet company objectives Support strategic planning and execution of company initiatives Qualifications and Experience Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing or assembly environment Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role (Supervisor, Lead, or Manager), with demonstrated team and process ownership Education High school diploma or equivalent required Technical certification or education in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred Skills Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation Working knowledge of quality systems and lean manufacturing principles Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite High attention to detail and commitment to quality Job Conditions / Physical Requirements Work performed in a manufacturing environment Exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor elements Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Personal Characteristics Results-driven leader with strong accountability and ownership mindset Ability to build trust, influence teams, and drive alignment Proactive problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement Benefits Treske offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including: Employer-paid medical insurance (employee) Family health insurance Dental and vision coverage Life insurance (employee and family) 401(k) with match
