Python Software Engineer Contractor
Location: Remote for now but really want them to be near NJ area, they are near Whitehouse NJ
Duration: 6+ Months possible C2H MoI: 2 Video
The Python Software Engineer Contractor is a back-end (server side) role that will be responsible for continued build out of the Quantitative Analytics Module.
- Programming Languages: Python (NumPy, Pandas, Oracle PL/SQL). Other non-interpreted languages like Java, C++, Rust, etc. are a plus. Must be proficient in the intermediate-advanced level of the language (concurrency, memory management, etc.)
- Design patterns: typical GOF patterns (factory, facade, singleton, etc)
- Data structures: maps, lists, arrays, etc
- Source Control Management: solid Git proficiency, MS Azure Devops (Ci/CD)
- SQL: proficiency with Oracle indexes, SQL tuning (Explain plan), views, Stored Procedures/Functions
- OS: majority of the development is on Redhat Linux but should be comfortable with Windows. Some unix shell scripting may be needed from time to time
- API development: must have proficiency with REST with GRPC/sockets as a plus
- Must be comfortable working in an iterative fashion in a flexible environment
- Manages his/her own work to ensure timely delivery
- Ability to converse with technical and non-technical groups.
- Must handle API development using REST. The project requires the use of FAST API, but most important the mastery of REST protocol. An additional plus would be GRPC / socket communications.
