Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference each day working as a Special Education Teacher, guiding middle school students with high support needs toward their greatest potential within an encouraging educational environment. This contract position is located near Joliet, IL, and offers the rewarding opportunity to positively impact a small caseload of just 6 students—providing the individualized support they deserve throughout the school year.

You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team, using your skills to adapt lessons, manage IEPs, and help students succeed both academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid LBS1 certification required
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Background supporting students with significant needs is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, modification, and accommodation tailored to students’ unique needs
• Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records
• Foster a supportive classroom climate focused on academic and behavioral growth
• Collaborate regularly with fellow educators, specialists, and families to build student success
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

This position offers a stable Monday through Friday schedule (35 hours per week) across the entire academic year, beginning August 13, 2026, and ending May 31, 2027.
