Gastroenterology Physician

Opportunity: Physician - Gastroenterology Job Details: Gastroenterology coverage for a 12-month assignment EMR system: Meditech Client is open to two providers alternating weeks but strongly prefers one consistent provider Virtual interviews with service line leadership and OR team APP support provided Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Call structure shared with the other provider; offsite call with 30-minute response time for emergency consultations and 12-hour response for routine matters After-hours call frequency: approximately 1 2 times per week, most commonly for active bleeds Average procedures per day: Required procedures include Upper Endoscopies (EGD), Colonoscopies, and ERCP (mid-level/moderate complexity) Specialty procedures include esophageal/duodenal/luminal stent placement, argon plasma coagulation, biopsies of the esophagus/stomach/small bowel/colon, colonoscopy with or without polypectomy, diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, enteral alimentation, esophageal dilation, foreign body removal via EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, GI motility studies, 24-hour pH monitoring, non-variceal hemostasis, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) Patient population is complex, often non-compliant and medically sick Providers with strong relationship-building and communication skills are highly preferred Facility: This regional medical center is a full-service hospital serving the eastern Kentucky community with a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services.
