Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a neuroscience and high-risk respiratory unit, requiring PCU/step-down experience, Epic proficiency, and ventilator experience. Requirements Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required IV start experience preferred Documented 1:5 ratio experience in a Step-Down (SD) or PCU setting required — ICU experience does not satisfy this requirement Ventilator experience required Experience with heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP equipment required Epic EMR experience required Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment Travel nursing experience preferred Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Responsibilities 36-bed Neuroscience/Intermediate Care and High-Risk Respiratory Unit in a hospital setting Mixed acuity unit serving med-surge and intermediate care patients, including those with CVA, TIA, seizures, and other neurological conditions High-risk respiratory patient population, including patients requiring heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP Targeted patient ratio of 1:4–6 Unit operates under a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs collaborate to care for a patient group; nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing based on unit needs Epic EMR — experience required Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 Every other weekend and holiday coverage required Travelers are first to float at the facility's discretion; floating may include high-risk respiratory and COVID units, as well as between multiple campuses (main, south, and north) within a 15-mile radius Nurses may also float to and cover the Neuro ICU, where they are assigned appropriate patients and paired with a buddy 13‑week contract Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a diverse neuroscience and high‑risk respiratory patient population Navy blue scrubs required Any RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no RTO will be added after an offer is made, and approval is at the manager's discretion Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr
