Job Summary: Operating Room (OR) Nurse Torrance, California
A travel Operating Room (OR) Nurse is needed to support surgical services across a busy acute care setting. The role includes routine operating room responsibilities and participation in scheduling requirements, including weekend coverage and on-call shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift with 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week. Includes 1 Saturday shift in a 6 week rotation and 23 on-call shifts in a 6 week rotation.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); valid California state license in hand; minimum 1 year of prior experience in the Operating Room; previous charge experience; ability to work the required weekend and on-call schedule; current eligibility as a first-time traveler (first-timers accepted).
• Preferred Qualifications: Epic charting system experience.
• On-Call: On-call coverage is required (1 call shift in a 6 week rotation).
• Float: Float may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, NYE, NYD).
  • May be required to float to other facilities within the state.
  • Scrub color: any color.
  • Patient diagnoses and specialty coverage include general surgical cases with Robotics (GYN, Urology, General), and Ortho (total joints with/without Mako robot, spine and minor ortho), including cases such as Abdominal/ Vaginal hysterectomy, abdominal procedures, and more.
  • Submission requirements include answering whether prior work has been completed at a Providence facility (per the prompt provided in the posting), providing 2 references covering 1 year (within the last 3 years), and having an LA fire card within the last 30 days (not reimbursed per the posting).
  • Orientation and modules are described in the posting as required non-billable modules completed pre-start and annually.
