The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seekingqualified candidates with an interest in academic medicine,clinical expertise and scholarship to join the non-invasive imagingprogram within the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Heart Center. This cardiologist will work primarily at Johns Hopkins Children’sCenter main campus.

The candidate must hold an MD/DO degree (or equivalent), beboard-certified or board-eligible in pediatric cardiology, and holdor be eligible for a Maryland physician license.

Candidates must have completed residency & fellowship trainingwith additional training and/or extensive experience in pediatricand congenital cross-sectional imaging.

Clinical activities will include performing cardiac MRI and CTstudies and may also include working in the pediatric cardiologyechocardiography laboratory, outpatient clinics, and inpatientrotation. Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows andperforming academic projects, such as original research or QI willbe expected. On call duties for inpatient cardiology andnon-invasive imaging will be required. Clinical activities of thisfaculty member will be at the full-timeinstructor/assistant/associate/professor rank based on theexperience of the candidate.

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology and the Blalock-Taussig-ThomasPediatric and Congenital Heart Center deliver comprehensive,innovative and compassionate care from the fetal period throughadulthood for patients with heart disease. The Division ofPediatric Cardiology currently has 13 full-time clinical facultyand 1 full-time research faculty, along with Pediatric CardiologyFellows.

As the birthplace of pediatric cardiac surgery with the historic“blue baby” operation, Johns Hopkins has been at the forefront ofcaring for children and adults with congenital heart disease,including those with genetic conditions. Researchers in thedivision, collaborating with colleagues from throughout JohnsHopkins and across the world, are unraveling the mechanisms ofchildhood heart disease and developing innovative treatments forthese disorders. The Johns Hopkins Hospital strengthened itscommitment to pediatric excellence with the opening of TheCharlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center in 2012, including 205beds, state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, pediatric andneonatal intensive care units, cardiac catheterization suites andcardiac imaging facilities, and a hybrid catheterization suite withcardiopulmonary bypass capacity is under construction.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or foreign equivalent
• Eligible for licensure in Maryland
• BC/BE in Pediatric Cardiology
• 3 years pediatric residency and 3 years pediatric cardiologyfellowship or equivalent
• Significant experience or formal training in congenitalcross-sectional imaging
