Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every-other-weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for night shift)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease unit with all private rooms, caring for patients with diagnoses including infectious disease, isolation precautions, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and similar conditions
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients), working alongside a 24/7 Charge Nurse and 2 CNAs per shift
• Administer and manage IV medications including Heparin, antibiotics, and other standard MedSurg IV medications; no cardiac drips required
• Monitor patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen as managed in coordination with Respiratory Therapy; interpret remote telemetry is not required
• Adhere to strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols appropriate for an infectious disease environment
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; travelers are first to float, with Tele float assignments limited to within skillset

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Strong knowledge of Medical Surgical nursing, infectious disease care, and isolation precautions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with infectious disease diagnoses such as MRSA, C-Diff, and COVID
• Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen in a MedSurg setting
• Comfort with remote telemetry monitoring in a MedSurg environment
