Job Title: Entry Level CNC Lathe Operator - 1st Shift | Weekly Pay

Job Description
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC lathe operator who is eager to advance into high-level CNC machining, including set ups and programming. You will start by operating CNC lathes and progressively learn to perform set ups, interpret blueprints, take precise measurements, and work with advanced CNC equipment under supportive training.
Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes safely and efficiently during 1st shift (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
• Run CNC lathes to produce parts to specification, maintaining quality and consistency throughout production.
• Learn and perform machine set ups on CNC lathes as training progresses.
• Assist with and eventually perform basic CNC programming tasks under guidance.
• Operate and become proficient with additional equipment, including lathes and mills such as Mori Seiki lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand part requirements and machining processes.
• Use measurement tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances on finished parts.
• Monitor machines during operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area within the machining environment.
• Collaborate with team members and trainers to continuously improve machining skills and technical knowledge.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on CNC lathe operating experience in a production or job shop environment.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery safely and follow standard operating procedures.
• Basic familiarity with machining processes and metalworking.
• Willingness to learn set ups, programming, blueprint reading, and measurement techniques.
• Ability to work a 1st shift schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating mills or additional CNC equipment is a plus.
• Exposure to reading and interpreting blueprints is beneficial.
• Comfort using precision measurement tools such as calipers and other gauges.
• Interest in advancing into high-level CNC machining, including set ups and programming.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a small shop team.

Work Environment

The role is based on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in a hands-on, industrial setting where practical work attire suitable for a machining environment is expected.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
