General Associate

Position Summary

The General Associate performs a variety of general labor, maintenance support, material handling, housekeeping, and warehouse duties to support daily plant operations. This position works throughout the facility and grounds to ensure equipment, materials, and work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general labor and handyman tasks throughout the plant and facility grounds.
• Use hand tools, power tools, equipment, and materials to complete assigned work safely and efficiently.
• Stock, replenish, organize, and distribute production materials and maintenance supplies.
• Perform material handling, weighing, packaging, sampling, and staging of materials.
• Clean machinery, equipment, tools, and work areas to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance and basic equipment repairs as assigned.
• Assist the Maintenance Department with equipment repairs, installations, and modifications under the direction of maintenance personnel.
• Tighten bolts, joints, and fittings and assist with the removal and replacement of elbows, braces, frames, unions, piping, and structural components.
• Cut pipe and structural steel using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Lubricate equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Replace light bulbs, pull wire, and assist with electrical and mechanical maintenance projects as directed.
• Clean machine parts, rolls, bearings, and other equipment components during maintenance activities.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments of coils, raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and submit replenishment requests as needed.
• Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness through routine housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, attendance, and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
• Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Safely wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to safely operate plant equipment, forklifts, and tools as required.
