These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.Key ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and optimizes tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.Analyzes production issues and implements tooling solutions to improve efficiency and quality.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, on new product introduction and existing product improvements.Manages tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, repair, and replacement.Conducts root cause analysis of tooling failures and implements corrective and preventative actions.Evaluates and recommends new tooling technologies and materials to enhance manufacturing capabilities.Develops and maintains detailed tooling documentation, including specifications, drawings, and maintenance procedures.Recommended QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.Proven expertise in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, die casting) and their associated tooling requirements.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.Bonus QualificationsExperience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, Mastercam).Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tooling verification (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).Certification in a relevant field, such as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).Experience with simulation software for mold flow analysis or structural analysis of tooling components.Job Titles That Should ApplyTooling Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, CNC Programmer, Fixture Design Engineer, Tool Designer, Production Engineer, Jig and Fixture Designer, Mold Designer, Die Design EngineerWhy The Pivot Group NetworkThe Pivot Group Network was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
