About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to serve as a visionary leader in the design and execution of a comprehensive institutional advancement strategy. The CAO will be responsible for cultivating a culture of philanthropy, driving philanthropic growth, and meeting the school's strategic financial objectives. This role involves providing strategic oversight across all advancement functions, including major and planned giving, annual funds, corporate and foundation relations, and alumni and community engagement. The successful candidate will also serve as the Campaign Manager for a significant comprehensive campaign and will be expected to manage a team, work closely with the Board of Trustees, and ensure the highest level of compliance and ethical governance in all advancement activities. Candidates for the Chief Advancement Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive fundraising or advancement experience, with a preference for those who have worked within an independent school or higher education setting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in annual giving strategy, capital campaigns, and scholarship/endowment fundraising, as well as strong management skills and the ability to build and mentor an effective team. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is preferred. The role demands a professional with superior communication skills, the ability to build and maintain positive relationships, and a commitment to the mission and values of the institution. Proficiency in modern workplace technology is essential, and experience with Blackbaud's Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM is strongly preferred.
