Job Description
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 3x12 hours, Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a holiday rotation and every other weekend requirement.

Job Description

The CVICU RN is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, ensuring they receive safe and effective treatment. The nurse will monitor vital signs, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Patient monitoring and assessment in a high-acuity setting.
• Administration of medications and blood products as needed.
• Management of patients on ECMO and ventilators.
• Collaboration with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff.
• Implementation of infection control measures and unit protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CVICU or similar setting; 2 years preferred.
• SC RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Prior travel experience is required.
