Direct hire opportunity for a 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician at a Fortune 500 corrugated packaging manufacturer in Arlington, TX.

Pay: $36.47 – $39.61/hr + $0.35/hr shift premium

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 11pm – 7am, 3 weekends off a month

The opportunity is for a strong mechanical and electrical technician who can diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across plant equipment and facilities. You'll maintain a full corrugator line and converting equipment, including Bobst flexo folder gluers, Sun and Ward rotary and flat die cutters, a Ward flexo, GeoMartin stackers, Alliance prefeeders and load formers, and Mosca unitizers and bundlers.

The work runs about 60% mechanical, 30% electrical, and 10% other.

You'll service and replace bearings, shafts and seals, gearboxes, and conveyor systems, and rig heavy shafts and components with a forklift. Set up and calibrate machines both mechanically and electrically. Troubleshoot and replace AC and DC motors, drives, relays, and analog and digital sensors using a meter and electrical schematics. Install and repair pumps and support the site's steam systems. Pull and replace hydraulic cylinder glands when leaks come up, with more intricate rebuilds sent out. Perform PMs on all equipment during 3rd shift, respond to emergency work orders quickly, and hand off anything unfinished so 1st shift can pick up where you left off. Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout, and keep a safe, clean work area.

What you bring includes 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a similar manufacturing environment, at the A or AA level. Strong mechanical skills. Solid electrical skills. Drive experience, including installing and programming drives. Rigging experience, including moving heavy shafts and bearings with a forklift. Experience setting up and calibrating machines. Basic hydraulic and pneumatic experience. Working knowledge of steam systems. Basic computer skills, since everything is digital, plus working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong deductive reasoning. You can pivot when your first idea doesn't pan out instead of getting stuck. Knowledge of OSHA regulations. Your own basic hand tools. Ability to work 3rd shift, overtime, and weekends as needed. Authorization to work in the U.S.

Pay and benefits include $36.47/hr (A level) to $39.61/hr (AA level), based on skills and experience, plus a $0.35/hr shift premium. 1.5x pay over 8 hours in a day and over 40 hours in a week, with weekend and holiday premiums. Schedule and work environment includes 3rd shift, 11pm to 7am, Monday through Friday. Expect about 5–10 hours of overtime a week. Shifts may extend to 12 hours to cover vacations or unplanned downtime. First 45 days on 1st shift for training before moving to 3rd. The plant is hot, especially in summer, and fast-paced. When a line goes down, it needs to be running again quickly. On your feet for about 90% of the shift and walking about 60%, with regular bending, kneeling, crouching, and some stairs, ramps, ladders, and crawling. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling in the 51–100 lb range, such as positioning a new motor. Walking surfaces can be slippery, narrow, vibrating, unsteady, moving, irregular, hot, or steamy. Normal vision is required, including color vision and depth perception. Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, Kevlar gloves, and sleeves for specific tasks. United Steelworkers (USW) union facility.
