Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the full HR function for two affiliated organizations in the insurance and benefits administration industry. This is a high-visibility, hands-on HR leadership role supporting approximately 70 employees across Fremont and Pleasanton, CA.

The Human Resources Manager will work closely with executive leadership and serve as a trusted advisor on California employment law compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, HR systems, recruitment, policy development, and workforce planning. This position is ideal for a senior HR professional who enjoys owning the full employee lifecycle and balancing strategic guidance with day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all human resources functions across two locations, including compliance, employee relations, benefits, recruiting, HRIS administration, policies, and workforce planning.
- Advise executive leadership on California employment law, employee relations matters, organizational effectiveness, risk mitigation, and HR best practices.
- Manage leaves of absence, accommodations, Workers' Compensation, workplace investigations, corrective actions, separations, and required documentation.
- Support both union and non-union employee populations, including Collective Bargaining Agreement interpretation, grievance coordination, and labor relations support.
- Administer Paychex Flex or comparable HRIS functions, including employee records, time and attendance, benefits enrollment, HR reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, compensation reviews, training compliance, employee engagement initiatives, and offboarding processes.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $145,000 to $175,000 annually.
- Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire.
- Work Arrangement: On-site.
- Location Schedule: 3 days in Fremont, CA and 2 days in Pleasanton, CA.
- FLSA Status: Exempt.
- Reports To: CEO and CFO.
- Supervisory Responsibility: None.
