Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to a dynamic high school setting near Joliet, IL. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact in students’ lives, working with adolescents in a supportive and collaborative educational environment. If you hold your CCC, have experience in schools, and possess an active IL license and PEL, your skills are in high demand.
You’ll enjoy consistent weekday hours of 7:55 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., with flexibility for either full-time or part-time scheduling based on your needs. The manageable caseload allows you to devote meaningful attention to each student—starting around 30 for new staff in a full-time role and capping at 60.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Active Illinois state license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience in a school-based setting, particularly with high school students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide in-person services (no telepractice or SLPA support permitted)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide therapy for students with communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), tailored to student goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams for optimal student outcomes
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all sessions and progress reports
- Support students in achieving academic and social success through effective communication strategies
