All IT Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 2 to join a client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Seeking an engineer to develop, execute, and automate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-loop (SIL) verification activities for embedded control systems
• The role focuses on dSPACE-based test environments, system-level verification, automation in both the HIL and SIL environments, and troubleshooting of electronic control software and hardware
• Additional engineering support is needed to execute and deliver 2026 and 2027 Product Group commitments. This role will help expand HIL, SIL verification and validation capacity to meet program milestones and quality objectives
• The engineer will work with dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink, automation frameworks, and production software, gaining exposure to the complete virtual validation lifecycle while contributing to delivery of 2026 and 2027 Product Group commitments
• 40% HIL/SIL test development and execution, 30% test automation and scripting, 20% issue investigation and debugging, 10% team collaboration, reviews, and planning
• Develop, execute, and maintain validation tests for embedded control software using dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink, and automation tools
• Part of the Software Verification & Validation team supporting virtual validation, SIL, and HIL testing for our client embedded control systems
• Collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams across software, controls, and product groups
• dSPACE toolchain & MATLAB/Simulink
• Python, gtest C++ Automation & Embedded Software Verification
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across software, controls, and validation teams

• Develop and execute HIL/SIL verification test plans for embedded control systems and ECUs
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot dSPACE/Vector-based test benches and validation environments
• Create and maintain automated test scripts, data collection, and reporting tools to improve test efficiency and coverage for both HIL and SIL environments
• Analyze defects, perform root-cause investigations, and support system-level verification of software and hardware integrations
• This position provides hands-on experience in both Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) verification and validation for our client embedded control systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or relevant field Why this Role?
• Ability to read electrical schematics, perform hardware setup, and troubleshoot HIL/SIL test environments
• Familiarity with diagnostics, fault injection, and validation reporting tools
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development concepts
• Experience with CAN/J1939 communication protocols and Vector tools (CANoe/CANalyzer) for embedded systems testing and diagnostics
• Experience in ECU integration, system-level verification, debugging, and root-cause analysis
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, version control, and test automation framework development
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with a continuous learning mindset
• Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
• Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software. Solid programming experience in C or C++
• Strong knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc
• Strong hands-on experience with dSPACE HIL systems, ECU validation, and embedded controls testing
• Experience with Python automation, test scripting, and data analysis
• Knowledge of CAN/J1939, UDS diagnostics, Vector tools, and hardware troubleshooting/debugging
