About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of promoting nonviolence, and human and civil rights, with a focus on uplifting marginalized youth and families. The successful candidate will be a values-driven, mission-centered leader, responsible for the organization's overall management, program and curriculum leadership, fund development, and external relations. This role is deeply rooted in the principles of nonviolence and ethical leadership, as the Executive Director is expected to embody and teach these values. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit leadership, including staff supervision, fiscal stewardship, and governance, and must be committed to the transformative power of Dr. King's theories and action models. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include providing organizational and management leadership, safeguarding the quality of programs and curriculum, leading fundraising efforts, and maintaining active relationships with government and community partners. The role also requires a commitment to the distinctive leadership conduct of the organization, including practicing Kingian nonviolence, leading as a transformed nonconformist, and fostering a culture of self-examination and growth. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, and staff, and the community to ensure the Center's mission is effectively carried out and its impact is sustained.
