Description:

The Registered Nurse will render professional nursing care to patients within assigned units of the hospital and will float as needed to Medical/Surgical, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Psychiatric units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support and promote the mission and values of the healthcare organization.
Provide comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans for each shift.
Communicate patient information effectively for continuity and safety through bedside shift report and multidisciplinary rounds.
Participate in unit-specific competencies and complete all required learning modules timely.
Promote a culture of well-being in the workplace and help reduce alarm fatigue.
Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures.
Identify and assist in addressing patient care safety issues.
Engage in daily unit-based safety huddles to enhance patient care quality.
Maintain knowledge of the overall strategic plan of the organization.
Stay updated with unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators to improve patient outcomes.
Collaborate with nurses across departments to share expertise and improve care quality.
Contribute to quality initiatives and performance improvement projects.
Assure patient education materials are culturally competent and accessible.
Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and participate in training nursing students.
Demonstrate commitment to shared governance principles and address issues through the appropriate chain of command.
Effectively delegate care and unit activities to nursing personnel.
Manage use of paid time off according to policies and avoid unauthorized overtime.
Complete required training and certification, including a dysrhythmia course prior to orientation completion.

Job Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program is preferred.
Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge is preferred, with training to be completed prior to orientation.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred and needs to be obtained before the end of orientation.

Additional Information:

Orientation may include up to 16 unpaid hours.
Shift cancellations may occur up to three times during a 13-week contract.
