Title And Summary Director, Finance Business Partner Overview The Director, Finance Business Partner is a key finance leader supporting Product, Technology, and AI organizations. This role partners closely with business leaders to drive financial planning, investment discipline, and operational execution—ensuring alignment between product strategy, technology investments, and financial outcomes. The role is critical in translating strategy into actionable plans, managing cost structures, and enabling efficient product and platform growth. Role & Responsibilities Business Partnership & Strategy Execution Partner with Product, AI and Technology leadership to translate strategic priorities into financial plans and execution roadmaps Support decision‑making across product development, platform investments, and resource allocation Financial Planning & Forecasting Lead financial planning processes (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, strategic planning) Ensure alignment between product roadmaps, technology initiatives, and financial commitments Technology & Engineering Expense Management Provide visibility into engineering, platform, and infrastructure cost drivers Support expense management, tracking, and optimization across technology investments Drive financial discipline while enabling innovation and delivery Investment Analysis & Governance Support evaluation and prioritization of product and technology investments Develop and review business cases to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and return expectations Product Portfolio Support Partner with Product teams to manage financial performance across product portfolios Provide insights into cost‑to‑build, cost‑to‑serve, and investment trade‑offs Performance Insights & Analytics Define and track key metrics related to spend, efficiency, utilization, and product performance Deliver actionable insights to improve financial and operational outcomes Cross‑Functional Execution Partner across various business units to ensure delivery against plans Support execution tracking and identification of risks and opportunities Executive Communication Prepare clear, concise financial updates and insights for leadership Support storytelling that links financial performance to business strategy Team Leadership Lead and develop junior finance resources Contribute to a high‑performing, collaborative finance team All About You Strong experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or investment analysis Experience supporting Product, Engineering, or Technology organizations Solid understanding of technology cost structures and product development cycles Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to synthesize complex data Effective communicator with ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment Experience & Education 7–10+ years of experience in finance, strategy, or related roles Experience in technology, fintech, or services environments preferred Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus Mastercard is a merit‑based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
