RN - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Southeast Health Medical Center is seeking an RN for the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. The position involves working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM for four shifts per week. The duration of the contract is 13 weeks, starting on August 31, 2026, and ending on November 30, 2026.
The L&D unit requires experience with antepartum patients, labor patients, and preterm labor patients. The following certifications are required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP. The unit performs continuous fetal monitoring, fetal scalp electrode placement, IV starts, amnioinfusion, and assists with anesthesia during epidural placement and c-sections.
Previous charge experience is required, and candidates must have experience working in large healthcare facilities. Travel experience is preferred. The facility requires an active Alabama RN license and a permanent address at least 90 miles away from the facility. Local candidates will not be accepted. Former permanent staff are not eligible for travel roles for 10 years following separation. After completing two consecutive contracts, travelers must take a 6-month break before returning.
COVID-19 vaccine is required with medical/religious exemptions only. Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions.
