Job Description

The Machine Operator operates a variety of fabrication equipment, including shears, press brakes, and radio frequency (RF) welders, to produce high-quality metal components. This role involves accurately measuring finished materials, visually inspecting products for quality, and supporting multiple departments through cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, press brakes, and RF welders in a safe and efficient manner.
• Measure finished materials using a measuring tape and other measurement tools to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Visually inspect products to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure they meet required standards.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and drawings to set up and complete fabrication tasks correctly.
• Perform metal fabrication tasks, including sheet metal fabrication, duct work, aluminum fabrication, and related processes.
• Use brake presses, grinding tools, and shears to cut, form, and finish metal components.
• Cross-train and assist in other departments such as shipping and receiving, packing, and fabrication as business needs require.
• Manage time and workload effectively to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Ideally 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication.
• Proficiency operating fabrication equipment, including shears, press brakes, and RF welders.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong skills using measurement tools, including measuring tapes, to verify dimensions.
• Experience working with sheet metal, duct work, aluminum, and other metals.
• Hands-on experience with brake presses, grinding, and shearing operations.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication and metal fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with welding processes and related fabrication techniques.
• Comfort working across multiple departments such as shipping, receiving, packing, and fabrication.
• Ability to adapt to new equipment and processes in a growing facility.

Work Environment

This role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work takes place in a brand new facility that is very clean, well lit, and organized, equipped with newer fabrication equipment. While the environment is non-climate controlled, large ceiling fans help maintain airflow and comfort. The dress code includes appropriate work attire and safety footwear, supported by a boot reimbursement program.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kernersville, NC.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
