Accounting Associate

Job Summary We are seeking an Accounting Associate for a contract opportunity in Columbia, SC supporting a public sector finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on SCEIS Production experience who can step in quickly to assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions. The Accounting Associate will provide short-term parental leave coverage in a structured, professional environment where accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, and reliability are highly valued. Key Responsibilities Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger accounting activities. Enter, review, and maintain financial data within SCEIS Production accounting modules. Assist with daily accounting transactions, financial processing, and documentation. Reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and help resolve accounting issues. Support priority finance projects and fill operational gaps as needed. Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures. Compensation and Benefits Pay: Up to $26.12 per hour. Assignment Length: Approximately 4 weeks for parental leave coverage, with potential for additional opportunities based on business needs. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Start Date: ASAP. Location: Columbia, SC.
