Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician AReyes Fleet Management, 1 of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to help with the repairs and maintenance of our tractor and trailer equipment at our Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling shop in Downey. You will also be working on our light duty vans (Ford and Chevy) and MHE equipment.Shift: Full-Time Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm (Wednesday and Thursday off)Pay: $43.14/hrPerks and Benefits: Union benefits plus pension Vacation and sick time, holiday pay Tool and Boot allowance Company provided uniforms CDL and ASE certifications incentive pay Annual raises Career advancement opportunities after 6 months of employment Health, dental, and vision coverage including multiple medical plans to choose from.Position Responsibilities: Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts) Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review Some travel may be required Other projects or duties as assignedRequired Education and Experience: High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 3 plus years of related experience Must possess own tools Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 poundsPreferred Education and Experience: Technical School CertificationBenefits At the Reyes Family of Businesses, our Total Rewards Strategy prioritizes the holistic well-being of our employees.
