(This is an on-site position.)SUMMARYThe Sr. Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing common contract logistics processes and driving continuous performance improvement. This engineer may also provide engineering support for new and/or expanding business implementations. The Sr. Industrial Engineer will support multifaceted operations and have a detailed understanding of client needs. The Sr. Industrial Engineer may contribute to the overall facility layout and design as well as determine appropriate equipment to support the concept of operational use. The Engineer will lead & manage any necessary vendors, as they execute the physical implementation of the solution.This role is also responsible for maintaining financial and engineering metrics that will meet or exceed performance goals. The Sr. Industrial Engineer may at times provide guidance and training to interns/Co-ops.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResearch/Analysis: Keep informed of best-in-class tools and techniques needed for solution designTrack all projects and provide communication and guidance to engineering leadershipDetermine and enlist resources required to support targeted changes in support of CI project including WMS Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Quality, Etc.Analyze workflow including inbound, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping and VAS processes to ensure accuracy and ability to executeEnsures all distribution system functionality is configured to optimize performance (e.g., WMS, LMS)Performs special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functionsPerforms cost/benefit tradeoff analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system, or technology changeDevelops logistics engineering strategies with the engineering leadership teamMay participation in “DSV Quality Planning” (DQP) sessions with new clients validating requirements and processesMay support local operations with and/or Experience Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a supply chain (warehouse/4walls) environment.Prior leadership positions directing Logistics Engineers in 3PL/supply chain environmentSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES· Advanced knowledge of statisticsProficiency in MS Office Applications with advanced knowledge of Excel, Access and Power BIInsight into a Warehouse Management Systems allowing for understanding of system capabilitiesAutoCAD Lean methodologies Six Sigma tools Knowledge of various storage methodologies as well as material handling equipmentStorage and process design PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / DESIRED SKILLS5 years’ experience in a supply chain (warehouse/4walls) environment.Green Belt Six Sigma / Lean CertifiedExperience dealing with end users, vendors, and clientsExperience in 3PL environment· E-commerce experience including starting up small to large volume solutions· Experience in multiple warehouse automation applications (Pick to Light, Automated Sortation, Voice Pick, conveyor design, etc.)· Experience in LMS implementation
