Environmental Commodities Trader

Piper Maddox is partnered with a fast-growing global clean energy and environmental commodities company that is expanding its North American business and looking to add a commercially driven professional to the team.

This is an opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial US business and play a key role in building out its client base, counterparty network, and transaction activity across environmental markets.

\n

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Originate new commercial opportunities across RECs/EACs, carbon, PPAs, vPPAs and other environmental products.
\n
• Develop new clients and expand existing commercial relationships.
\n
• Provide clients with market color, procurement guidance and transaction advice.
\n
• Build and manage a commercial pipeline from initial opportunity through close.
\n
• Research emerging markets and identify new products or opportunities the business should pursue.
\n
• Track regulatory, legislative and market developments and turn them into actionable commercial opportunities.
\n
• Contribute to the company's North American market strategy.
\n
• Represent the business at conferences, industry events, client meetings and dinners.
\n

Requirements:

\n

\n
• 2+ years of client-facing experience in energy, environmental commodities, decarbonization or a related sector.
\n
• Experience in environmental commodity trading/brokerage, climate consulting, C&I energy sales, power marketing, corporate sustainability or a similar commercial role.
\n
• Strong understanding of North American environmental markets, particularly RECs/EACs and/or voluntary carbon.
\n
• Experience originating new business, managing a commercial pipeline and closing transactions.
\n
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
