Staff Accountant

Preference will be given to candidates living in Greer, SC, Columbia, SC, and Charlotte, NC areas. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards. This role reports to the Platform Controller. This position is primarily remote with occasional travel to company sites as needed. The work schedule is 8am to 5pm (with occasional work outside this timeframe). What you'll do Prepare & post journal entries in accordance with company policies & generally accepted accounting principles Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany accounts Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met Prepare financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for management review Maintain the general ledger and support accurate classification of financial transactions Support internal and external audits by compiling requested documentation and responding to inquiries Communicate with internal departments regarding accounting-related matters Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Preferred Qualifications Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required Experience with general ledger accounting, fixed assets and inventory controls and reconciliations Understanding of fixed asset accounting and inventory controls Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently Who We Are At PowerChampions, we help power-generation service companies grow to their potential while ensuring employees come first.
