Project Manager

We are partnering with a growing commercial flooring contractor to identify a Project Manager to oversee commercial flooring projects throughout the San Diego market. This is an onsite, client-facing role responsible for managing projects from estimating and preconstruction through installation and project closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial flooring installations, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and building strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and installation teams. Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, finish schedules, and construction documents to determine project scope and material requirements
• Coordinate and verify quantity takeoffs to ensure complete and accurate project estimates
• Prepare detailed estimates, bids, budgets, and value engineering recommendations while meeting proposal deadlines
• Submit and manage RFIs, project documentation, and customer communications throughout the bidding process
• Coordinate material procurement, purchasing, deliveries, and project logistics with vendors and internal teams
• Attend preconstruction meetings and coordinate installation schedules with field personnel and subcontractors
• Manage all phases of commercial flooring projects from project award through final completion
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, quality standards, and customer expectations throughout execution
• Conduct job walks, pre-installation meetings, and site inspections to identify potential issues before installation begins
• Coordinate shop drawings, submittals, slab moisture testing, and other pre-installation requirements
• Manage field supervisors and installation crews while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications
• Communicate project updates with customers, contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage change orders, punch lists, project documentation, and project closeout activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, building codes, and company procedures
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and installation partners

Ideal Background

• Minimum of three years of estimating, bidding, or project management experience within the flooring industry or a related construction field

• Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products including carpet, resilient flooring, tile, and stone

• Thorough understanding of flooring installation methods, construction practices, and project coordination

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, finish schedules, and construction documents

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget objectives

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software applications

• OSHA 10 certification preferred; OSHA 30 certification is a plus

Salary Range: $50K-$75K plus incentives and bonuses
