CDOT will provide training to obtain your CDL. Total annual compensation is $65,934 ($53,934 base pay and $12,000 housing stipend). Base pay is $2,074.39 biweekly ($53,934 annually). The work schedule is Monday‑Thursday 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. What You Will Do Plow snow Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors Mow grass and weeds Remove debris from roadways, culverts, and tunnels Shovel gravel, sand, concrete, and asphalt Dig ditches Install and repair guardrails, highway markers, warning signs, and lighting Fill potholes and roadway cracks Set out signs and cones for traffic control Remove and cover graffiti Install pavement markings and striping Stop or slow traffic in emergency situations Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs Follow safety guidance and wear proper safety equipment Impact Your work is critical to keeping Colorado’s roadways open and safe, positively impacting the quality of life for all Coloradans and visitors. Preferred Qualifications Strong commitment to working safely Desire to learn and grow professionally Comfortable working outdoors in physically demanding environments Strong customer service orientation Problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset Experience operating equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes Experience using hand tools Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software or equipment Prior state service experience related to these duties (optional) Conditions of Employment Obtain a CDL Permit within 30 days of hire and a Class A or B CDL within 120 days of hire Pass a pre‑employment drug test (if holding a regular or CDL) and a DOT physical Pass a comprehensive screening including social‑security trace, criminal and driving records, and educational verification Be on-call on a rotating basis and respond to weather or emergency calls as needed Work shift hours Monday‑Thursday 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM Possibly live within 30 minutes of the workplace for timely response to emergencies Complete required maintenance training: two weeks for new employees, one week for veterans, annually for existing staff May be required to obtain a HazMat endorsement within 6‑12 months Must provide a reachable phone number for emergencies #J-18808-Ljbffr State of Colorado
