Legal Analyst I

Corporate and Transactions Team - Legal Analyst Protective Life Corporation has an opening in its Birmingham, Alabama corporate office for a legal analyst to join the Legal Department and work with the Corporate and Transactions Team in connection with regulatory and corporate governance matters. Key Responsibilities Research requirements and prepare legal and regulatory filings Communicate with state insurance regulators and internal stakeholders Support corporate governance activities for Boards of Directors and committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, coordinating with presenters, preparing meeting materials, drafting resolutions, and drafting meeting minutes Maintain organized records Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Required Excellent written and oral communication skills Careful attention to detail Highly organized with proven time-management skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a highly regulated industry, particularly the life insurance industry Experience supporting corporate governance processes and board operations Paralegal certification Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Minimum Requirements Minimum of three years of corporate paralegal experience Associate's degree and high school diploma or equivalent #LI-SB1 Employee Benefits: comprehensive health insurance dental insurance vision insurance mental health benefits employee assistance program paid time off paid parental leave short-term disability cultural observance day contributions to healthcare accounts pension plan 401(k) plan with Company matching ProHealth Rewards, Protective's platform to improve wellbeing while earning cash rewards Eligibility for certain benefits may vary by position in accordance with the terms of the Company's benefit plans.
