Senior Investment Analyst, Private Placements

Job Summary Senior Investment Analyst – Private Placements Team at Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company. The role focuses on evaluating and recommending privately placed debt transactions and monitoring portfolio securities across various sectors for a portfolio of approximately $160billion. Location & Schedule Columbus: One Nationwide Plaza, Columbus OH 43215. Candidate must reside within 35 miles of the office. Work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote. This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Key Responsibilities Support the Portfolio Manager in research and trading activities. Identify executable and suitable market opportunities. Conduct transaction analysis including credit, collateral, borrower, structure, deal documents, and relative‑value scenario analysis. Assist in portfolio surveillance, identifying emerging investment risks and developing risk‑mitigation actions. Perform portfolio performance attribution analysis. Execute ad‑hoc projects, reporting and analysis as requested. Collaborate with other departments on relative value, sector analysis, asset‑class dynamics, and portfolio considerations. Create streamlined reporting and produce portfolio reports as needed. Assist with data management and maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree or CFA desirable. Experience: Up to 5 years of investment experience. Solid understanding of fixed‑income and financial concepts. Understanding of economics and capital markets. Exceptional analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities. High energy, positive attitude, collaborative and team‑oriented. Composed and decisive under pressure or when challenged. Driven, self‑motivated, and intellectually inquisitive. Creative, organized, responsive, and detail‑oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel and other Office applications. General understanding of technology including databases and data‑analysis applications. Proficiency with fixed‑income analytics applications. Credit Check: A valid credit check and/or background check will be required as part of the selection process. Salary National salary range for Senior Investment Analyst: $106,500.00 – $177,500.00.
