Toledo Blade Dental Care – Dental Assistant Toledo Blade Dental Care is a new dental office in North Port and we’re growing. We are looking to add an experienced Dental Assistant. 2+ years of dental assisting experience is required. The candidate we’re looking for is open, positive, flexible, and a team player. Experience assisting with general dentistry procedures, including making temporary crowns and using a scanner, is needed. Work schedule: 4 to 4.5 day work week surrounding the following hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 7:30 am‑5:15 pm; Tue, Thu 8:30 am‑6:15 pm. Two of these days the shift will be earlier, beginning at 7:00 am. These days will be determined soon. Candidates will need to be able to work one or both early shifts. Responsibilities: Assist the dentist in managing dental emergencies. Take and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs. Take and develop X‑rays and provide comprehensive post‑operative dental procedures. Maintain and organize lab equipment. Support the clinical treatment care of patients, including comfort, soothing upset patients, and educating them on dental procedures. Manage clinical supplies and work efficiently to maintain the supported dentist’s schedule. Assist with general dentistry procedures such as temporary crowns and scanners. Improve clinical skills through continuing education and training opportunities offered by Heartland Dental. Qualifications: Positive and outgoing personality. Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Good manual dexterity. Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs. Superior working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. Ability to build rapport with patients. Ability to travel at least once every other month for training, occasionally overnight. Dental assisting school certificate is a plus. Previous work experience in a dental practice is a plus. Benefits: Medical and prescription drug insurance.
