Hours of Work: 7p-7a. Days Of Week: 24/7. Work Shift: 12X3 Night (United States of America). Job Overview Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a full‑time Night Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its team at the Bush / Renner Campus. The RRT will perform a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures—including ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, and airway maintenance—under the indirect supervision of the department’s medical director according to departmental policies and procedures. The candidate must be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment of both adults and neonates and demonstrate knowledge, skills, and sensitivity to patients of all ages, sexes, races, and cultures. Job Requirements Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program Current Basic Life Support certification required Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support—must obtain within 1 year of hire Valid, licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care New graduates welcome to apply Job Responsibilities Performs respiratory therapeutics, including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR, and mechanical ventilation. Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures, such as arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms. Prepares a treatment evaluation that includes a bedside respiratory physical assessment, patient interview, and review of the medical record. Uses critical thinking skills to perform appropriate actions. Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT results during patient data review. Assembles, checks, operates, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment, including artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, oxygen delivery devices, and blood gas analyzers. Participates in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks. Performs required cleaning and maintenance of all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
