The company values professionalism, collaboration, and creativity in the kitchen and onsite at events. Role Description The Pastry Cook is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for catered events, following established recipes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include scaling ingredients, mixing doughs and batters, operating baking equipment, decorating and plating desserts, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation. The Pastry Cook maintains high hygiene and food safety standards, organizes the pastry production area, and collaborates with the culinary team to meet event timelines and special menu requests. Occasional support for other kitchen and prep tasks may be required to ensure smooth event execution. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in bakery operations, including Baking and Cooking for pastries and desserts. Strong Creativity Skills for developing and decorating high-quality baked goods and event-specific desserts. Knowledge of and commitment to Hygiene, food safety practices, and proper sanitation procedures. Previous experience in a professional pastry or bakery setting, preferably in catering or events. Ability to follow recipes accurately while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and effective communication within a team. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
