Job Overview
Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a well-established manufacturing company in Northwest Illinois. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations while helping maintain accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations.
Assist with cash management activities, including reporting, payments, transfers, and cash flow analysis.
Support month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory analysis, and financial reporting.
Prepare recurring reports and assist with regulatory filings and registrations.
Provide audit support by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Serve as a backup for other accounting team members as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
2+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of GAAP; IFRS experience is a plus.
Experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
Work Environment & Schedule
Office-based position in a climate-controlled environment.
Monday through Friday schedule with start times between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM.
Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
