CAD Cut Operator – 2nd Shift (Zünd Digital Cutting)

We’re looking for a second-shift CAD Cut Operator to run our Zünd digital cutters and keep production moving after hours. If you have print experience, enjoy hands-on technical work, and like a job where your accuracy shows in the finished product, we’d like to hear from you.

About the Role
As our CAD Cut Operator, you’ll own the cutting stage of production on second shift. That means loading cut files, setting up tools and materials, and making sure every piece comes off the table clean and accurate. You’ll work closely with prepress, print, and finishing to keep jobs flowing. You’ll also handle routine maintenance that keeps our Zünd G3 cutters running.

What You’ll Do

• Operate Zünd digital cutters to cut, crease, and route printed and unprinted materials to spec
• Set up jobs: load cut files, select and change tools and blades, register printed sheets, and run test cuts
• Inspect cut work for accuracy and quality before it moves to finishing or kitting
• Perform daily and scheduled machine maintenance, and flag problems before they cause downtime
• Prioritize and organize your queue to meet deadlines in a fast-moving production schedule
• Communicate with prepress and production staff about file issues, material needs, and job status
• Keep your work area organized, clean, and safe

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of experience in a print production environment
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable using computers and production software, including working with digital files
• Mechanical aptitude and experience performing routine maintenance on production equipment
• Ability to stay organized and accurate while managing multiple jobs at once
• Works well on a team and communicates clearly with coworkers
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Availability to work overtime when needed

Preferred:

• Experience operating a Zünd or other digital cutting table (Esko Kongsberg, Colex, or a CNC router)
• Experience in large-format printing
• Prepress experience, such as preparing cut files, checking artwork, or working with imposition software (a major plus)

Schedule & Pay

• Second shift, 4-day workweek: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–12:30 AM
• Some flexibility in the workweek is available
• Must be available for occasional overtime as production needs require
• Pay: $20–$25/hour, based on experience
