Finance Manager (Financial Planning/Analysis)

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and financial strategic planning of the company. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance. Establish credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to support the president, parent company and other senior management in performing their responsibilities. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization: Evaluation of potential impacts resulting from new programs/strategies/initiatives, and/or regulatory actions. Review and evaluation of human capital-resource planning decisions. Lead annual and monthly budgeting/reforecasting processes through education of leadership team on financial issues impacting department budgets. Lead annual and month end financial accounting closes: Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts. Balance, reconcile, manage and maintain the company's accounting systems interfaces to other programs. Maintain proper system standing master data (e.g., Ensure financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting principles, including adoption of new relevant accounting principles. Support parent company annual group audit of financial statements. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Drive cash flow performance through management, oversight of collections, disbursements and payroll. Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline. Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal development opportunities (where possible). Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including experience in a leadership role. Prior experience working in a SaaS, software, ore technology company. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP is a plus. This role is remote, with a preference for candidates located in the Rochester, NY area to support occasional in-person collaboration at a shared coworking space

This is primarily an office-based role requiring extended periods of sitting and frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and operating standard office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, or lifting of office supplies or small equipment up to 25 pounds may be required. Visual acuity sufficient for reading, computer work, and document review is necessary. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. Additional hours including evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
